Abstract

This study aims to find out, understand, and explain the Problems of Loading and Unloading Coal Performed by Loading Masters at PT. Arpeni Pratama Ocean Line Tbk. Jepara at the Special Port of PLTU Tanjung Jati B Jepara. To achieve this goal, the researchers used data collection techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study were processed using qualitative descriptive analysis to identify, understand, and explain the factors that affect coal loading and unloading and the handling of any problems faced by the Loading Master at the time of coal unloading. Which is caused by extreme weather with rain and wind of approximately 55-60 knots, trouble with unloading equipment (ship unloader/ shunlo), cracked fenders on coal carriers, damaged HT (Handy Talky) equipment, and the slow cleaning of the ship's hatch. done by the cleaning team.
